Band (Peru)

This is a Band. It is dated 1400 and we acquired it in 1947. Its medium is cotton, wool and its technique is dove-tailed tapestry (for all verticals) 1:1 general, 2:1, 2:2 some; slit tapestry (for all diagonals) generally with 2 shots non-horizontal weft between color areas; double-faced; sides both intact, end are cut. It is a part of the Textiles department.
