Cap Crown (Belgium)
This is a Cap crown. It is dated 1700–1750 and we acquired it in 1943. Its medium is linen and its technique is bobbin lace, brussels style. It is a part of the Textiles department.
Early in the 18th century, a woman's cap lost its high peaked front. The set of lace for the cap now included a cap crown, a band for the brim and a pair of streamers.
