Sampler (USA), possibly 1825

This is a Sampler. It was embroidered by Eliza J. Benneson. It is dated possibly 1825 and we acquired it in 1941. Its medium is silk embroidery on cotton foundation and its technique is embroidered in cross, stem, eyelet, rococo, running, and satin stitches on plain weave foundation. It is a part of the Textiles department.
