Cover (Italy)

This is a Cover. It was made by Scuola Ricami Ranieri di Sorbello. It is dated early 20th century and we acquired it in 1979. Its medium is linen and its technique is cutwork with needle-made fillings; deflected element work; withdrawn element work; satin, overcast stem, buttonhole, and buttonhole stitch over a loop on plain weave; foundation fabric cut away after buttonhole stitch outline completed. It is a part of the Textiles department.
