Textile

This is a Textile. It is dated 18th century and we acquired it in 1978. Its medium is silk, cotton, metallic yarns and its technique is supplementary warp pile (velvet) with two sets of supplementary warps (red and blue) in a five-harness satin foundation, with discontinuous supplementary wefts patterning (brocade) bound in 1/4 twill. It is a part of the Textiles department.

This object was donated by Eleanor Marquand Delanoy. It is credited Gift of Eleanor M. Delanoy.
