Sidewall

This is a sidewall. It is dated 1860–80 and we acquired it in 1976. Its medium is block-printed paper. It is a part of the Wallcoverings department.

This object was donated by Thomas Strahan & Co., Manufactory. It is credited Gift of Thomas Strahan Company.

Its dimensions are

22 x 19 cm (8 11/16 x 7 1/2 in.)

It is inscribed

Inscribed on recto in graphite: "squares/ go up and down", "change flowers" and "...width 20 1/2". There are also small brushstrokes of red and pink near center of paper on recto.
