Sampler (England)

This is a Sampler. It was embroidered by Mary Mumford. It is dated 1738–39 and we acquired it in 1976. Its medium is silk on linen and its technique is embroidered in cross, satin and eye stitches on plain weave foundation. counted stitches. It is a part of the Textiles department.
