Hanging (India), 19th century

This is a Hanging. It is dated 19th century and we acquired it in 1968. Its medium is cotton and its technique is plain weave foundation; mordants for black, two reds, and lavender were block printed; madder dyed; yellow and blue applied by brush. It is a part of the Textiles department.
