Fragment (Russia)

This is a Fragment. It is dated 19th century and we acquired it in 1967. Its medium is silk, cotton, metal strips and its technique is cut and uncut supplementary warp pile (velvet) in a plain weave foundation, extra weft floats of metal strips cover alternate shots of foundation weft. It is a part of the Textiles department.
