Drawing, Costume Design: Henry VIII, for "Catherine Parr, or Alexander's Horse"
Geometric and stylized King VIII stands frontally with legs set wide apart in a triangle stance , wearing a stylized black and yellow costume. Large circle torso with fitted black jacket that flares into a fluted or ruffled skirt; the wide lapel is white with brown simplified flowers; under the jacket is a shirt with yellow and red stripes curved upwards; rounded puff sleeve shoulders are patterned in concentric yellow and black bands; red leggings from the top down to the knees separated by yellow bands with black knee-high socks; beige shoes and beige and brown sleeves. The King has a blue curved moustache, wavy beard and hair, and wears a red cap that drapes to the left side with a dangling pom-pom. The brow and nose have cartoonish curved brown lines. The design signs the lower left edge by the king's right foot: 'E. McKight Kauffer'.
