This is a Waistcoat front. It is dated ca. 1725–35 and we acquired it in 1962. Its medium is silk, metal-wrapped threads with silk core and its technique is embroidery using satin stitch and couching in five different metallic yarns on silk plain weave patterned with supplementary warp floats. It is a part of the Textiles department.
