A large silver globe is supported by the arms and shoulders of a smaller figure, bowed under its weight. His head is bent forward, arms uplifted, his right knee resting on the base below him. He wears a draped cloth around his hips. The vertical sides of the triangular base are decorated with scrolling leaves and floral medallions. The three ball feet of the base echo the curve of the globe above. The globe is adorned with a leafy finial knob at its top and a horizontal band of leaves just below. On the globe, to our left, is a ring handle supported by an embossed acanthus leaf. The leaf is embellished at bottom with a profile portrait of a hooded figure. To the right of the handle is a round wreathed medallion suspended from a bow, depicting a reclining figure in feathered turban and flowing robes, with a camel resting in the background. The borders of other wreathed medallions, hidden by the curvature of the globe, are to the left of the handle and right of the medallion.
