Platter and Stand Platter And Stand

This is a platter and stand. It was manufactured by Du Paquier Porcelain Manufactory and Wiener Porzellanmanufaktur and painted by Adeline Oppenheim Guimard. It is dated late 19th century and we acquired it in 1956. Its medium is hard paste porcelain, vitreous enamel, gold; brass. It is a part of the Product Design and Decorative Arts department.

This object was donated by Cornelie J. Oppenheim.

Its dimensions are

H x diam. (a: plate): 4.3 × 33.6 cm (1 11/16 × 13 1/4 in.) H x W x D (b: stand): 15.2 × 12.7 × 18.5 cm (6 in. × 5 in. × 7 5/16 in.)

It has the following markings

On underside, in underglaze blue: shield (Vienna factory mark)

It is signed

Signed in image, lower right: "A. Oppenheim"

It is inscribed

On reverse, in overglaze red: "'Spielende Kinder' nach dem Gemälde von P. P. Rubens, in der k.k. Gemäldegallerie in Wien."
