Shawl Border Fragment (India)

This is a Shawl border fragment. It is dated early 20th century and we acquired it in 1952. Its medium is silk warp, wool weft (lab:11-10-04) and its technique is interlocking twill tapestry weave; free shuttle detail. It is a part of the Textiles department.
