Greeting Card, Valentine

This is a Greeting card. It is dated ca. 1850 and we acquired it in 1931. Its medium is embossed cut paper with gilt paint and chromo-lithograph additions. It is a part of the Drawings, Prints, and Graphic Design department.

This object was donated by Sarah Cooper Hewitt and Eleanor Garnier Hewitt. It is credited Gift of Eleanor and Sarah Hewitt.

25.3 × 20.3 cm (9 15/16 in. × 8 in.)

It is inscribed

Inside paper heart: "Reflections of the Heart." At bottom, a band with the words printed in blue: "May I Hope."
