Beaker Beaker

This is a beaker. It is dated 1767 and we acquired it in 1931. Its medium is silver, gold. It is a part of the Product Design and Decorative Arts department.

This object was donated by Eleanor Garnier Hewitt and Sarah Cooper Hewitt. It is credited Gift of Eleanor and Sarah Hewitt.

On the underside of beaker: [1] “DK” in oval with floriated boarder, impressed (maker’s mark) [2] Tower with seven lobes below and the number “17 / 67” on either side, impressed (town mark, Bergen, Sweden; date mark, 1767) [3] “IC / 1767”, impressed (assay mark) [4] Gemini zodiac sign, impressed (date mark, May 22 – June 21)
