Textile, Dakar

This is a Textile. It was designed by David Adjaye and produced by Knoll Textiles. It is dated 2015 and we acquired it in 2015. Its medium is 100% trevira cs polyester and its technique is yarn dyed, jacquard woven double cloth. It is a part of the Textiles department.

Dakar, a double-cloth drapery sheer, reflects the formal composition of the classic Kente cloth, but replaces its brilliantly colored pattern blocks with alternating rectangles of sheer and opaque textures.

This object was donated by Knoll Textiles. It is credited Gift of Knoll Textiles.
