This dramatic rendering for an Oldsmobile, draughted by General Motors designer George Camp, emphasizes the car's formal presence through shadows and highlights. The car is angled towards the left of the drawing, accompanied by a large, abstracted shadow of steely grey-blue while the tinted windows and chrome grill are laden with highlights. Camp's focus is on the Oldsmobile's long front, ample grill and subtle headlights.
Oldsmobile, a now-defunct brand, was founded in 1897 as the Olds Motor Vehicle Company. In 1908 it joined General Motors as an operating division, and in 2004 it ceased operation.
It is credited Museum purchase through gift of Paul Herzan and from General Acquisitions Endowment Fund.
