Page From A Sample Book, Mezzotone Papers, 1948

We have 8 images of Page From A Sample Book, Mezzotone Papers, 1948 .

A dark blue sheet, formatted horizontally (landscape) contains an off-white space across the center, in which three curtains are shown in blue, hanging from a single rod. The curtain on the left, held loosely with five circular rings, is decorated with dark blue triangles, arranged in repeating shapes of six-sided stars. The center of each star is a lighter shade of blue, each containing a symbol. Some symbols resemble clovers, while others are logographic or geometric in style. The curtain in the center is tied into the rod with two creased knots, with the excess lengths draped over the rod of the left. There is a dark visible background on one side with stylized dragonfly shapes in varying sizes; the image is similar on the other side with a light background. Behind the curtain are waves of horizontal crescents in varying shades of blue, again accented with flying insects large and small. The curtain on the right is held also with five circular rings. It is the widest curtain decorated with vertical lines and symbols similar to those on the first curtain. In the dark blue border below the scene, the object is described as 'A Mezzotone Paper from Katzenbach and Warren, Inc.' and titled ''Byzantine Curtains' designed by Ilonka Karasz.'
