A rectangular black enamel lipstick case in a vertical orientation with shallow sliding lid. Located near the top is a gold disc inscribed in lower case letters “ne m'oubliez pas” which translates into forget-me-not filled in with black enamel in a composition mirroring the form of the disc. A collet-set round diamond adorns the center. The lipstick case could easily fit into the palm of your hand. The photograph captures the case from an angle where the front, top and left sides are visible as is a reflection against a white ground.

An exquisitely beautiful vanity case fabricated from onyx stone into a rectangular form with rounded corners in a vertical orientation. An original central design of a narrow cypress tree adorns the front employing twelve vertically positioned leaves crafted from substantial sized carved emeralds secured with yellow gold prongs growing up the tree with a pink-red ruby carved into a bird sitting atop the tree with another bird, both secured in gold prongs, on the lower right side of the tree. Smaller cabochon rubies in a simple gold round setting in several sizes dot the length of the tree while the narrow trunk and branches are encrusted with faceted diamonds and yellow cabochon citrines. Tender little flower buds made from faceted diamonds are gently scattered facing up and down with negative space in between toward the bottom edge of the case. The trunk grows over the edge into a gold clasp with a carved central emerald and two faceted sapphires on each side. Changing direction, near the top of the tree are two small lozenge-shaped geometric jeweled hinges crafted from faceted diamonds with a central faceted emerald, cabochon yellow citrines and cabochon rubies. The vanity case could fit into the palm of your hand. The photograph captures the object displaying the front and bottom with a cast shadow and reflection against a white surface and ground.

A vanity case fabricated from green aventurine stone into a rectangular form with rounded corners in a horizontal orientation with sides and front edges created in black enamel with a narrow gold line bordering the aventurine. Black enamel is also used as a ground material for an ornate banner-like form with a straight faceted diamond edge that functions as the pole for the banner to hang. Straight side edges embellished with diamonds descend to the middle point of the front then descend to meet equally in the center almost to the edge into a wide angle, similar to the design of an envelope flap. To add to the banner-like idea are numerous triangular faceted diamond forms, seven on each side of the angle or flap, creating an interesting zigzag design against the black enamel. The content of the banner consists of a floral scene with luscious carvings of three red-orange coral poppy flowers cushioned in a bed of carved green jadeite leaves. Oval cabochon sapphires are clustered about in between the leaves. Accents of purple flat unfaceted amethysts are surrounding a round centered faceted diamond on each poppy and a short diamond clasp or thumbpiece in a short line occupies the central space on the opening side. This vanity case could fit into the palm of your hand and it would feel cold to the touch, as well as be heavy from the aventurine stone. Rectangular black enamel vanity case decorated with three stylized gold cypress trees. The tall center tree has cream-colored enamel leafy accents with turquoise enamel flowers dotting the lower portion of the upright, pointed tree. Flanking the tree are short tufts of turquoise grass and tall gold vines with curling sprigs, blooming with turquoise flowers at the top. A pointed gold filigree frame at top and bottom and vertical lines of baguette diamonds at sides enclose this tree. To each side are simpler, shorter gold cypress trees, with crisp bladelike leaf motifs outlined in black. Short lines of diamonds at top and bottom accent these trees. The sides of the case are covered with small, glossy black onyx panels. The case lies flat, slightly angled, on a softly reflective white surface.

A rectangular vanity case with pinched-in, inverted corners, made from a variety of precious materials. The object is laid flat on a white background and angled to the right. The top surface of the case depicts a vertical garden landscape crafted from inlaid pieces of iridescent shell, in mottled shades of blue-green, green, yellow, and purple-pink, forming a stark contrast with the black lacquer background. At upper left is a pavilion with a pointed and swept roof line. At middle right is a large rocky outcropping, with plants at the bottom and a crooked tree growing at the top, spreading over the pavilion. Irregular bands of sparkling, crushed shell below the pavilion and rock suggest earth or water. At the bottom edge, small plants peek into the frame. The tree and plant leaves are delicate clusters of diamonds or long triangles. The garden scene is enclosed with a border of glittering diamonds, trimmed in gold. The rounded sides of the case are rich red enamel, with gold trim at the seam where the two halves of the case meet. Centered on the long side is a protruding pearl thumbpiece for opening the case.
